Moorish-inspired delights for home

Marrakech is a city of contrasts, from the snake charmers and smoky food stalls to the chic bars that attract the champagne-drinking Eurotrash crowd. But it's these differences that make it such an inspiring place when it comes to interiors.

From embroidered fabric to etched glass and metal, it's no wonder tourists flock to the souks, buying up bargains in the form of cushions, lamps and tea sets in a bid to recreate the riad look at home.

It's pretty without being cutesy, elegant without being intimidating and colourful without being garish. And with the likes of Tesco, Zara and Monsoon all offering Moorish-inspired delights, Morocco can come to you without you having to endure the tedium of airports.
