Gap autumn 2009 collection preview - fashion design

On Monday night the handbag fashion team attended the preview of Gap's autumn 2009 collection. We spotted some serious supermodels hanging out in the latest Gap range. Highlights of the collection included a black shearling cropped coat, a washed denim puffa gilet (as modelled by Jourdan Dunn) and, of course, the gorgeous Pierre Hardy platform boots.

English floral prints have been everywhere this spring

Cacharel and Liberty originally collaborated in the late 1960s, producing a Cacharel designed blouse in a Liberty print. Over the next decade Cacharel designs in Liberty Print became symbolic of the Carnaby Street fashion scene, and the era in general.

So it is with great pride and excitement that Liberty is able to reveal its new Cacharel Liberty Print collection. Using the original retro patterns and prints, but on modern designs - the French brand has reunited its alliance with Liberty, whilst delivering a welcomed twist to vintage clothing.

Spring summer scents

Airport pick-me-up: ck One Summer

This new fragrance from Calvin Klein defines summertime cool with its energetic blend of mint, cucumber, lime, apple and yummy rum cocktail. It may sound like a recipe for disaster but it is in fact uplifting, fresh, crisp and will conjure up thoughts of enjoying cocktails on the beach with warm sand between your toes. Oh, to be on holiday...

signer fans: Burberry Summer

We are big fans of Burberry and in our office their perfumes never go out of fashion. We reckon this new summer fragrance is also going to be a big hit; it's light, romantic and has an air of summertime freshness about it. Enjoy notes of blackcurrant, sweet litchi and citrussy mandarin mixed with freesia, rose and delicate jasmine. It is as on-trend for summer as their latest catwalk collection.

Grown-up glamour: Un Matin d’Orage by Annick Goutal

Enjoy this sensual, fresh fragrance from Paris perfumerer Annick Goutal. By blending soft gardenia, Sicilian lemon, jasmine, delicate magnolia, rich champaca and green leaves you are left with a fresh, sensuous perfume. It's like the sun's rays after a terrific storm - just splendid.

Fashionable fun: Jean Paul Gaultier Ma Dame Eau Fraiche

We were hooked when the original Ma Dame hit our stores last year, the funky bottle, sweet fragrance and Agnes Deyn advertising - it ticked every box. This summer is the first limited edition of the fab fragrance which has all the appeal of the original but with extra zesty notes of orange, grapefruit and fruity raspberry. It's lighter, full of fruity fun and is on our must-have fragrance list already.

Fruity delight: Michael Kors Island Bermuda

This limited edition summer fragrance by Michael Kors will get you comments. It is a vibrant, fresh and completely alluring fragrance from the designer that puts G into glamorous. The scent is overflowing with exotic freesia, passion flower, orange flower, fresh greens and burst with fruit. What's the inspiration? A dazzling sunset and a warm tropical breeze of course...

Summertime Sweet: Love by Nina

The inspiration behind this fragrance is taken from sunny mornings in Paris, think of a warm morning breeze that surrounds you in one of the world's most romantic cities. Set in a pretty green apple shaped bottle with blushing pink petals it's a perfume collectors dream. The fragrance itself contains fresh apple, sweet lychee, sugary cherry blossom and a soft musk. It's fruity, floral and just like Paris in summer it is oh-so sweet.

A floral fancy: Paul Smith Rose, Summer Edition

The iconic English designer, Paul Smith, comes up trumps once again with this limited edition Summer Rose fragrance. Like the original scent, this contains the Paul Smith rose along with a refreshing blend of citrus, apple and sweet violet. Together they create a fresh, crisp fragrance that allows the rose to be perfectly modern - there is no stuffy old-style rose here thank you very much!

For both of you: Jo Malone Lotus Blossom & Water Lily Cologne

This is a relaxing, soothing yet uplifting delight from luxurious spa brand Jo Malone. It's all about the perfect blend of delicate lotus blossom, mandarin, bamboo and light water lily that will make you smile and awaken your senses. It's meant for sharing.

Cool as ice: Carolina Herrera On Ice

This month legendary fashion designer Carolina Herrera launches her latest fragrance; On Ice. Taking inspiration from New York at dawn it contains the uplifting orange blossom, mandarin, gardenia and iris with the colour of the bottle ranging from bright orange to yellows and pinks. Over all it's a crisp, vibrant fruity mix that will be a staple scent for summer in the city.

Total indulgence: Tom Ford Champaca Absolute

This new private blend from Tom Ford can only be described as pure indulgence. This is for those, like me, who enjoy unusual fragrance compositions. This new scent contains a single note of champaca absolute, an Asian flower mixed with cognac, that is then blended with bergamot, orchid, jasmine and fresh greens, complimenting base notes of vanilla bean and sandalwood. It is a decadent, heady, unique floral delight.

The collector’s item: Hermes Merveilles Limited Edition Full Of Stars

This light, airy, fresh fragrance has been around for a few years and is still a firm favourite among many. We personally love the comforting blend of spices and oak mixed with zesty lemon and orange. But what we really love are the limited edition bottles that come out every year and make for a beautiful collector's item. This year is no exception with the snow globe style of this 2009 bottle making us think of mystical far away lands, sparking gold and shooting stars. It's just darling...

Evening romance: Insolence Eau Glacee by Guerlain

This pretty sculpted ice-like bottle contains a sparkling fragrance that is glamorous yet delicate. Containing notes of violet, lively berries, citrus and soft musk's, as the names suggests, this is a cool elegant fragrance that comes to life on the skin. Perfect for warm romantic nights and summer weddings.

Classic twist: Jean Charles Brosseau

This is a modern twist on a classic favourite that doesn't disappoint. It is a fresher citrus based blend, compared to the original, which contains orange, bergamot, jasmine, rosemary and finishes with amber, oak and woody undertones - perfectly fresh for lazy summer days.
